WHY SHOULD YOU REGULARLY
CHECK YOUR TYRES?

Tyre quality is very important because tyres are the only point of contact between a vehicle and the road, and their performance directly affects safety, efficiency, and comfort. For these reasons, you should get your tyres checked regularly, at least every 3 months is a good ule of thumb, depending upon how many kilometres you do per year. Here are the key reasons:

Safety & Control
Good-quality tyres provide reliable grip, especially during braking, cornering, or in wet/icy conditions.
They reduce the risk of skidding, blowouts, and accidents.

Fuel Efficiency
High-quality tyres are designed to reduce rolling resistance, meaning the engine doesn’t need to work as hard, saving fuel.

Durability & Cost-Effectiveness
Premium tyres wear more evenly and last longer, meaning fewer replacements in the long run.
Poor-quality or cheap tyres may degrade quickly, costing more over time.

Comfort & Noise Reduction
Quality tyres are engineered to absorb road bumps and reduce vibrations.
They also produce less road noise, improving driving comfort.

Environmental Impact
Durable, fuel-efficient tyres lower carbon emissions and waste.

In short: Good tyres keep you safe, save money, and make driving smoother and more efficient.

Monthly Tyre Checklist
Use this checklist monthly and before long trips to keep your tyres safe and efficient.
  • Check tread depth – should be at least 1.6mm (legal minimum in many places, more is safer).
  • Check tyre pressure – measure when tyres are cold, and inflate/deflate to manufacturer’s recommended level.
  • Inspect tyre condition – look for cuts, cracks, bulges, or embedded objects (like nails).
  • Check for even wear – uneven wear could mean incorrect pressure, poor alignment, or suspension problems.
  • Check spare tyre – ensure it’s inflated and in good condition (if your car has one).
